in Open Participatory Environments

This session is sponsored by Tesol Teacher Education IS and CALL IS

Blogs, podcasts and social networking tools are a convenient and highly accessible medium for EFL-ESL multimedia webpublishing and networking. They allow learners to create their own content and build their identity online through interactive spaces through which learners can engage in reflection, open and participatory multi-mode self-expression with peers and experts beyond classroom walls.

This advanced Evo 07 session will run from January 15th to February 25th 2007. It is aimed at teachers who have already experimented with blogs and podcasts either on their own or with classes and would like to extend their technical and pedagogical knowledge of these social tools, RSS and tagging to help learners interact with the web at large and create networks according to their own interests.

A warm welcome from all of us!

The weekly schedule summary posted on the left will give you an overview of our session. There is also a separate page for each week where you can find a detailed description of activities and discussions. There is a page with articles and resources you may want to consult and contribute. In order to post on any of the pages of the wiki, you will need to open an account with wikispaces and ask us to join the webpublishing space. You can always mail us at our Yahoo Groups if you have any questions or place them in the FAQ according to the week in course.
